Leadership Triangle seeks award nominees

DURHAM, N.C. -- Nominations are being accepted through Nov. 10 for Leadership Triangle's 7th Annual Goodmon Awards, which will be presented at the Goodmon Awards Gala Dec. 11.

The gala will be held from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the American Tobacco Campus, Bay 7, in Durham.

The African Children's Choir and the Bouncing Bulldogs will provide entertainment.

Four awards will be given to an individual, public official, organization and partnership demonstrating exemplary regional leadership.

The winning applicants will have made contributions in more than one county or city in the Triangle.

The selection committee will consider applicants who also have demonstrated:

  • Specific examples of commitment and leadership on regional issues that have a positive impact on the region as well as local communities
  • Active participation in, and support of, organizations across the region
  • Innovative projects or strategies that improve the quality of life in the Triangle as a region
  • Other indications of regional leadership

Leadership Triangle is a nonprofit that promotes regionalism in the area through education and leadership development.

The awards are in honor of James F. Goodmon, president and CEO of Capitol Broadcasting Co., board chair of Leadership Triangle, and board chair of the A.J. Fletcher Foundation, which publishes the Philanthropy Journal.
