Triangle funder, Lenovo aid relief efforts

DURHAM, N.C. - The Triangle Community Foundation and Lenovo are soliciting donations to assist with humanitarian aid efforts in China and Myanmar in the wake of recent natural disasters.

Contributions will be forwarded to the American Red Cross International Response Fund to aid the victims of this month's Cyclone Nargis in Myanmar that killed at least 15,000 people and the earthquake in China that killed tens of thousands.

Death tolls in both countries are expected to rise.

Tax-deductible donations can be made via check payable and mailed to the Triangle Community Foundation, Relief Project, 324 Blackwell St., Suite 1220, Durham, N.C., 27701.

Credit card donations can be made online at http://www.trianglecf.org/.

Employees of Lenovo, a computer manufacturer with operations in Beijing and Raleigh, can make donations to the Lenovo Hope Fund, a donor-advised fund created by Lenovo and administered by the Triangle Community Foundation.

Contributions also can be made through donor-advised funds already under management with the foundation.
