Mobile giving gains momentum
Mobile giving is becoming more popular among younger generation and may reached a turning point with a flood of giving by text message in the wake of the Haiti earthquake, a new survey says.

- The Travelers Companies giving $500,000 to support The Hole in the Wall Gang Camp to expand its hospital outreach program from New York to Boston.
- Rose Community Foundation, Denver, awarded 151 grants totaling over $4.5 million in fourth quarter 2009.
- Scholarship America to add 14 schools to its Dreamkeepers financial-assistance program to help community colleges keep moderate to low-income students from dropping out, thanks to $3.2 million from Kresge Foundation, Lumina Foundation for Education and Walmart Foundation.
