Women’s Resource Center sets gala

HICKORY, N.C. - The Women's Resource Center in Hickory will hold its annual fundraising gala May 1, beginning at 6 p.m.

With the theme of "Women's Art, Women's Vision," the event will be held at the Lake Hickory Country Club and will feature a talk by Ann B. Ross, author of the Miss Julia novel series.

The evening will include a dinner, an exhibit of artworks by Vae Hamilton and Wyn Flo, and a performance by Phyllis Heil, the Whistling Entertainer of the Year for 2005 and 2007.

The Women's Resource Center provides crisis assistance, enrichment programs and services to assist during life transitions.
