Raleigh Symphony Orchestra Executive Director Job Description
The RSO Executive Director will serve as the main point of contact for all administrative matters for the orchestra. This is a hands on job that includes grant writing, coordinating with a variety of other funding sources, budget reporting to the board of directors, personnel management, booking and scheduling rehearsal, performance and meeting venues, marketing and fund raising for the orchestra, attending board meetings and assisting in cultivating the board of directors.
Additional responsibilities include oversight of the orchestra librarian and stage manager, rental of music as needed, program preparation, and education outreach.
A 4 year college degree is required, with a degree in business / arts management preferred. Successful grant writing and fund-raising skills are desired. A performing arts background is also preferred.
The RSO has been a creative member of the Raleigh Arts scene since 1979. RSO is a 501(c)3 organization with a long tradition of reaching out to diverse communities through concerts, community partnerships, in-school and community education programs. Critically acclaimed, RSO provides opportunities for talented area musicians as well as keeping true to its mission of providing programming at a reasonable cost.

The RSO invites applications for the part-time position of Executive Director beginning in November 2017. Salary is 10 percent of the RSO annual budget.
