The Associate Director of Advancement - Campaign, is responsible for the day-to-day campaign management responsibilities, setting and executing a strategy of all aspects of a multi-faceted, multi-year, multi-phased campaign. The individual will manage the Division Phase and Community Phase seeing it through to the conclusion of the campaign.
The role entails working collaboratively with members of the Board of Trustees, Head of School, Director of Advancement and Advancement staff, and campaign volunteers to cultivate, solicit, and steward campaign and leadership donations.
After the campaign is completed, the Associate Director of Advancement - Campaign will develop and manage the major gifts effort for The Pegasus School.
Examples of Essential Functions:
- Collaborate with the Head of School, Director of Advancement, volunteer campaign leadership and outside campaign counsel to be responsible for the Division Phase and Community Phase.
- Manage portfolio of campaign prospects and traveling when appropriate to cultivate further connection to the school.
- Prioritize donors, conduct research and draft communications, proposals and donor profiles for briefing memos for prospective campaign donors with gift capacity to reach campaign goal.
- Work with volunteers across Current Parent Division and Alumni Family Division to facilitate volunteer-led solicitations of Campaign Gifts at lower levels.
- Support campaign volunteers; help set strategy, run and conduct follow-up for group meetings and train volunteers for solicitations.
- Build cultivation and solicitation strategies for donors at all levels and organize the pipeline of individual campaign prospects and campaign cultivation events.
- Maintain monthly reports as required by management that accurately reflect activity and performance, specifically highlighting the progress of each prospect’s cultivation plan.
- Develop appropriate donor acknowledgment, recognition and stewardship platforms and ensure proper execution.
- Continue to provide campaign updates, numerical analysis and relevant reports to Director of Advancement and/or the Board.
- As needed, in conjunction with the Communication Specialist, create campaign related materials (brochures, external communications, updated case statements, etc).
- Represent The Pegasus School at functions and events.
- Work with the Director of Advancement to manage and report on the campaign budget.
- Maintain a comprehensive campaign timetable.
- Continue major gift cultivation and solicitation in support of Pegasus priorities.
- Identify and qualify individual prospects for the Pegasus School, with an emphasis on personal face-to-face visits.
- Manage an active portfolio of 50 - 100 prospects and develop cultivation and solicitation strategies in line with Pegasus’s priorities and prospect interest.
- Create individual goals for each prospect in the portfolio based on the donor’s history of giving and the organization’s knowledge of the prospect’s capacity.
- Oversee stewardship of a high-quality donor experience through correspondence, donor engagement, professional proposals, mailings and acknowledgements.
- Represent The Pegasus School at functions and events.
Convey a positive image of The Pegasus School at all times when working with students, parents, employees and the public.

Required - Employee should have a Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 5 years of development or non-profit related experience, including proven success in capital campaign fundraising. Thorough knowledge and proficiency of Google Suite.
Employee must possess excellent interpersonal, persuasive, problem-solving skills and creative writing skills; be able to present a professional and articulate image in person and in writing; and have a thorough knowledge of Google Docs. Must have excellent speaking ability in group settings and in one-on-one conversations. The individual is expected to work independently and as a member of the Advancement team; to use initiative and to exercise sound judgment in every aspect of the position. Employee will have regular contact with donors and their representatives, high-level trustees and volunteers, staff and members of the community. The employee is also expected to remain flexible to the needs of the department and the available schedules of prospective donors.
Physical and Environmental Elements:
This is primarily a sedentary office classification and employees work in an office environment with moderate noise levels, controlled temperature conditions and no direct exposure to hazardous physical substances. Employees have occasional exposure to irate parents, staff and public and private representatives in interpreting and enforcing departmental policies and procedures.
Finger dexterity is needed to access, enter and retrieve data using a computer keyboard, typewriter keyboard or calculator and to operate standard office equipment. The position occasionally bends, stoops, reaches, pushes, and pulls drawers to retrieve and file information and lifts and carries reports that typically weigh less than 20 pounds.
Special Requirements/Certification (travel, extended hours):
Some light travel may be required between the office and nearby locations. Evening and weekend work may be required in conjunction with the position.
